| Acceptance and waiting |

Question: I've always known my quest for enlightenment, I've recently e-mailed you what forms it has taken and the levels of understanding, first the mental concept, the spiritual understanding and finally the physical/emotional being that; the concept of \"enough\" is what I'd like to speak of. When we finally become grateful for all of our lives, the pain, the pleasure, the want, the fulfillment, we can speak \"enough\". At that moment, we are fully present and there is no-thing past or future that can stay in the same space.
Umi: This is the beginning. When \"enough\" appears then there is still to appear, acceptance. Now, for you this has already occurred. This is your experience to the moment of acceptance. Yes, being \"fully present and there is no-thing past or future that can stay in the same space.\" This is the acceptance. Now there is the waiting. Now the real work begins, when there is total acceptance for all that is happening, when there is total acceptance for all pain and all pleasure, inside and outside, when all attachments have dissolved away, then there is the waiting. But the waiting is also a trap. This is when the false enlightenment appears. This is when the belief can arise, \"Ah, I have arrived.\" This is simply the cunning ego coming in the back door. This is when the Zen Masters have hit the disciple. If the disciple falls into this trap and is not with an Enlightened Master, they develop the spiritual ego, and become more lost than those who are living in the \"I don't know.\" In the acceptance, there is the waiting in the \"I don't know\", being open, fully accepting all, with no desire for Enlightenment, with no concern of the self, with nothing to do, simply waiting, with all the doors and windows open. The body keeps moving and doing, but desires and wants have dissolved. This is the waiting... Love Umi |
